Fellowship of the College of Critical Care Medicine

The FCCCM is CCEF's two-year flagship course that prepares a clinician to handle various critical care emergencies they will encounter in their practice.

Eligibility
  • MBBS or a diploma in Anaesthesiology, Pulmonary Medicine or Emergency Medicine with 1 year of ICU experience.
  • MD/DNB in Medicine, Anaesthesiology, Pulmonary Medicine or Emergency Medicine.
  • Active CCEF Life Membership
  • Must be working in the intensive care unit for the full duration of the course.

💰 Fee Structure
Registration fee ₹ 70,000 (to be paid upfront when registering for the course). + Examination fee ₹25,000 (to be paid up to 3 months before the exam in year 2). Fee details are available in the FCCCM curriculum document in the document section.
📅 Timetable / Intake
Intake: January of each year. Registration open on 1st October up to 31 December, for the batch starting in the subsequent year. (e.g. Candidate could register anytime in October, November, or December of 2026 for the batch that starts in January 2027)

AFICIntermediate⏱ 1 Year
Advanced Fellowship in Intensive Care

The AFIC is a sub-speciality fellowship for areas such as liver transplant critical care, cardiac critical care, neurocritical care, and other focused intensive care domains.

Eligibility
  • Active CCEF Life Membership

  • 1-year structured training under a CCEF recognised teacher in a specific unit approved for this advanced fellowship
  • An apprenticeship-based programme

IFICMFoundation⏱ 1 Year
International Foundation Course in Intensive Care Medicine

A 100% online foundation course in intensive care medicine for those who cannot travel to India to give the exam. Also doctors in India who cannot move away their clinical practice or city yet are interested in upgrading their knowledge of critical care topics. Rolling intake — starts any day of the year. Schedule individualized as per start date.

  • MBBS (completed internship)
  • CCEF Life Membership
  • Exit exam is 100% online in the form of MCQs covering all the topics.
  • Successful candidates have a certificate of passing downloadable online.

Primary Certification in Critical Care Medicine

A one-year structured course in critical care medicine for doctors practicing in resource-limited regions.

Eligibility
  • MBBS (with internship) or diploma in anaesthesia, pulmonary medicine, or emergency medicine with 1 year of ICU experience.
  • Any doctor regularly working in ICU settings
  • MD in General Medicine, Anesthesiology, Pulmonary Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
Highlights
  • Curriculum is designed for handling most of the emergencies that a doctor will see in resource-restricted ICUs. This is relevant even for ICUs in cities, where the infrastructure is limited to having mechanical ventilation. Non-invasive ventilation, syringe pumps, monitors, and using vasoactive drugs etc like in nursing homes and smaller hospitals
  • Structured Formal Exit Exam consisting of a written exam, OSCEs, eCases, and Communication
💰 Fee Structure
₹ 30,000 (Registration fee to be paid at the time of registration). ₹ 10,000 (Examination fee to be paid at least 90 days before the exam.)

Modular online curriculum covering ICU pharmacology, respiratory support, haemodynamic monitoring, nutrition, and end-of-life care.
